Consciousness is not dual
- Since René Descartes divided reality into two separate realms—mind and matter—many people have tried to rationalize the causal potency of conscious minds within Cartesian dualism. Science, nevertheless, presents compelling reasons to doubt that a dualistic philosophy is tenable: In order for the worlds of mind and matter to interact, they must exchange energy, yet we know that the energy of the material world remains constant. Surely, then, there is only one reality. Here is the catch 22: If the one reality is material reality, consciousness cannot exist except as an anomalous epiphenomenon. Amit Goswami
- The antithesis of material realism is monistic idealism. In this philosophy, consciousness, not matter, is fundamental. Both the world of matter and the world of mental phenomena, such as thought, are determined by consciousness. Amit Goswami

- Consciousness never goes anywhere. Consciousness never becomes anything. There is only Consciousness, there is only Being, which simultaneously creates, witnesses, expresses and experiences itself in every experience we have. Rupert Spira
- There’s nothing “out there,” other than consciousness itself. The habitual tendency to believe otherwise is our fundamental illusion, a vanity of the human mind, which tends always to view its transitory subject as “mine.” David R. Hawkins
- Ultimately there is no inner, nor outer; the light of consciousness is both the creator and the creature, the experiencer and the experience, the body and the embodied. Take care of the power that projects all this and your problems will come to an end. Nisargadatta Maharaj
- There is only one consciousness, one aware-presence that knows the coming and going of all things, but doesn’t come and go with them. And all things that arise in consciousness, which, in fact, is everything, must be made of consciousness, leaving us to conclude that consciousness is all there is. The source of our being. How simple is that? Will Wright

- The mystical teaching of the ‘identity’ of all minds with each other and with the supreme mind…is clinched by the empirical fact that consciousness is never experienced in the plural, only in the singular. Erwin Schrodinger
- When discussing the prevailing Western belief in multiple souls, he wrote, “The only possible alternative is to simply keep to the immediate experience that consciousness is a singular of which the plural is unknown.” Erwin Schrodinger
- One issue that can arise with consciousness only model is solipsism—the notion that all is one, that a single consciousness pervades everything, and that appearances of individuality are real only on a relative level but are not true fundamentally. Robert Lanza
- There is no kind of framework within which we can find consciousness in the plural; this is simply something we construct because of the temporal plurality of individuals, but it is a false construction… The only solution to this conflict insofar as any is available to us at all lies in the ancient wisdom of the Upanishad. Erwin Schrodinger
- Modern quantum physics talks about a unified field, which underlies and connects everything in creation. Who we are, is pure consciousness or Oneness, expressing itself in different forms at different times in our evolution. - The same undivided and indivisible space is outside and inside of a thousand pots. Likewise the Self pervades all beings. Yogavasistha Maharamayana

- Time is the first language of the mind. Space is the first language of the senses. Remove time and space from experience – that is, remove name and form – and we are left with the oneness of Consciousness/Existence. We are left with timeless, spaceless Presence, with Being. Rupert Spira
- The ultimate metaphysical secret, if we dare state it so simply, is that there are no boundaries in the universe. Boundaries are illusions, products not of reality but of the way we map and edit reality. And while it is fine to map out the territory, it is fatal to confuse the two. Ken Wilber
- If I sink my attention deeply into the presence of awareness, it’s like sinking down into the depths of the ocean of being. The sense that I am an individual experiencing the world of separateness fades and I am immersed in a profound, undifferentiated oneness, beyond words to express. Tim Freke

- The real revolution is the revolution of consciousness and each one of us first needs to eliminate the divisionary, materialistic noise we have been conditioned to think is true; while discovering, amplifying, and aligning with the signal coming from our true empirical oneness. It is up to you. Peter Joseph
- Unity Consciousness is the experience of the 7 billion plus people on the planet being moved by the same force, which is God. It is the awareness to see what we really are: One Living Being. However, this is a truth that really can’t be explained with words; the minute you say it, it is no longer truth. Miguel Angel Ruiz
- Modern quantum physics talks about a unified field, which underlies and connects everything in creation. Who we are, is pure consciousness or Oneness, expressing itself in different forms at different times in our evolution. Pure Consciousness, which is eternal and timeless, is the Oneness; we are the separation or the duality. Roger Gabriel (Raghavanand)
- Awareness and all that appears in awareness are absolutely intimate! The ocean cannot reject the waves, why would it? Awareness, wholeness, oneness, or we could call it consciousness, takes form as everything that appears. Consciousness is not some blank empty slate behind everything. That’s how the mind interprets it. The mind interprets these words as things. Consciousness is not a thing – it is everything that appears. Jeff Foster
- We are open to the possibility that there is only one single, seamless totality, that Consciousness and Existence are one, that there is only one Reality. Rupert Spira
- The unbroken realization that you are indivisible from the universe, from universal consciousness, from the source of everything – that you are that source, that there is no other, no second, nothing that is not part of that unity, except as transitory illusion. If you could maintain that realization at all times, through waking and sleeping states of consciousness, across the threshold of death itself, what would you be? Daniel Pinchbeck
- Once there is a certain degree of Presence, of still and alert attention in human beings’ perceptions, they can sense the divine life essence, the one indwelling consciousness or spirit in every creature, every life-form, recognize it as one with their own essence and so love it as themselves. Until this happens, however, most humans see only the outer forms, unaware of the inner essence, just as they are unaware of their own essence and identify only with their own physical and psychological form. Eckhart Tolle
- Be open to the possibility that the Awareness with which all people and animals are aware of anything is the very same Awareness with which you are aware of these words right now. Treat people and animals as such, that is, as your very own self. But don’t limit this to people and animals. All we know of the world is the knowing of it. In other words, we do not know a world as such, we only know knowing; that is, we only know Awareness. But what is it that knows Awareness? Awareness is all that knows anything. In other words, everything, all seeming things, are only Awareness knowing itself. Therefore, treat people, animals, objects and the world, not as people, animals, objects or a world but as they truly are, made out of pure Awareness alone, made out of your Self alone. Rupert Spira

- That’s lucid living. Our identity is characterized by polarity. Right now we are the oneness of the primal awareness dreaming itself to be all of these separate individuals. Tim Freke
- Each individual is an expression of the collective consciousness of humanity, and the collective consciousness of humanity is an expression of the One universal consciousness. Eckhart Tolle
- I am awareness appearing as everything—every thought, opinion, emotion, experience, and state. It is genuine Oneness, a living realization characterized by love, humility, peace and inclusiveness. Scott Kiloby
- When individuals are established in universal consciousness, they live the scientific reality of the unity of life spontaneously in accord with all the laws of nature. This experience alone will transform our collective reality – our human civilization to one of unity, peace, and harmony. John Hagelin
- There is only one I actually. That I is Consciousness. When you follow the personal I to the source, it turns into the universal I, which is Consciousness. Begin to catch yourself. begin to realize your divine nature. You do this by keeping quiet. The fastest way to realization is to keep quiet. Robert Adams’
- This core identity has none of the uniqueness of the individual self. Being beyond all attributes and identifying characteristics, your sense of I-ness is indistinguishable from mine. The light of consciousness shining in you, which you label as “I,” is the same light that I label as “I.” In this we are identical. I am the light. And so are you. Peter Russell
- In the first place…since in the reality of our being we are the indivisible All-Consciousness and therefore the inalienable All-Bliss, the disposition of our sensational experience in the three vibrations of pain, pleasure and indifference can only be a superficial arrangement created by that limited part of ourselves which is uppermost in our waking consciousness. Behind there must be something in us—much vaster, profounder, truer than the superficial consciousness—which takes delight impartially in all experiences; it is that delight which secretly supports the superficial mental being and enables it to persevere through all labours, sufferings and ordeals in the agitated movement of the Becoming…. Oneness finds itself infinitely in what seems to us to be a falling away from its oneness, but is really an inexhaustible diverse display of unity. This is the miracle, the Maya of the universe, yet perfectly logical, natural and a matter of course to the self-vision and self-experience of the Infinite. Sri Aurobindo

Your consciousness and my consciousness are one
- When you recognise yourself as Consciousness, you recognise it as others. Eckhart Tolle
- Those wise ones who see that the consciousness within themselves is the same consciousness within all conscious beings, attain eternal peace. The Katha Upanishad
- The consciousness inhabiting your body is exactly the same as the consciousness inhabiting my body. We are one. The delusion that we are separate beings comes from identifying with the world of form—with our names, our bodies, our roles, our beliefs, our thoughts, and all of the mental constructs that we have created. Joseph P. Kauffman
- When you wake up to the Divine Consciousness within you and your divine identity, you wake up simultaneously to the Divine Consciousness appearing as all other beings. And this is not poetry and this is not a feeling, this is a direct experience of the divine light living in and as all other beings. And until this realization is firm in you, you do not know who or where you are. Andrew Harvey
- If your consciousness is without form, without quality, and without characteristics of any kind, would that not imply that the consciousness in every other being is also formless? And if they are all without form, how can you distinguish their consciousness from your own? What forms would you use to compare them? Isn’t the observing you exactly the same as the observing them? Joseph P. Kauffman
- We delight in one knowable thing, which comprehends all that is knowable; in one apprehensible, which draws together all that can be apprehended; in a single being that includes all, above all in the one which is itself the all. Giordano Bruno
.
Consciousness connects us to each other
- This new awareness has radical implications for each and every one of us. For it reveals a wholly interconnected, conscious and holographic universe, a Cosmos where consciousness is primary– and where we are therefore both creator and co- creator. Jude Currivan
- Every being experiences themselves as the center of their experience. Consciousness is what lies at our very core, and connects us all to each other. We may appear to be separate and individual because of the various forms our Consciousness inhabits, but below the surface the substance of our being is one and the same. Joseph P. Kauffman
- Ultimately, there is no such thing as “my consciousness,” but just the one consciousness and to sense your connectedness with the one (I can sense that continuously, which is why I can say that I know this for sure) to sense that connectedness with the one consciousness that pervades the universe, which in some traditions is called God, to sense that frees you of fear, from anxiety, and takes you to a very deep place of peace, but also of heightened aliveness. Eckhart Tolle
.
The world is nothing but consciousness knowing consciousness
- Whatever happens, happens to you by you, through you; you are the creator, enjoyer and destroyer of all you perceive. Nisargadatta Maharaj
- Consciousness is that in which all experience appears, with which all experience is known and out of which all experience is made. Rupert Spira
- The beauty of creation and the awareness that appreciates it are both God –immanent yet transcendent –fully present in each moment, forever. James C. Wilhelm
- From the point of view of Consciousness (if Consciousness can be said to have a point of view) there is just ‘one thing.’ And what is that ‘one thing?’ Itself! It doesn’t see or know objects, others, the world etc. It sees or knows only itself. Rupert Spira
- There are no entities, parts, objects or others anywhere to be found in experience. There is simply experiencing – thinking-imagining-sensing-perceiving – whose entire substance is made out of the Consciousness that knows it, just as the entire substance of the image is made out of the screen on which it appears. Rupert Spira
- From the perspective of the vastness, the other does not exist. When the vastness sees everything out of itself to be made of itself, this is the ultimate intimacy. the moment to moment flavour of the vastness undulating within itself as it perceives itself through every particle of itself everywhere brings a love that is limitless, far surpassing anything that the mind could construct as the ideal love itself. Suzanne Segal

The multiplicity of separate objects and selves we perceive is an illusion arising in the one consciousness
- The fundamental delusion of humanity is to suppose that I am here and you are out there. Yasutani Roshi
- The multiplicity is only apparent. This is the doctrine of the Upanishads. And not of the Upanishads only. The mystical experience of the union with God regularly leads to this view, unless strong prejudices stand in the way. Erwin Schrodinger
- Consciousness is a singular of which the plural is unknown. There is only one thing and that which seems to be a plurality is merely a series of different aspects of this one thing, produced by a deception, the Indian maya, as in a gallery of mirrors. Erwin Schrodinger
- The plurality that we perceive is only an appearance; it is not real. Vedantic philosophy… has sought to clarify it by a number of analogies, one of the most attractive being the many-faceted crystal which, while showing hundreds of little pictures of what is in reality a single existent object, does not really multiply that object. Erwin Schrodinger
- This life of yours which you are living is not merely a piece of this entire existence, but in a certain sense the whole; only this whole is not so constituted that it can be surveyed in one single glance. This, as we know, is what the Brahmins express in that sacred, mystic formula which is yet really so simple and so clear; tat tvam asi, this is you. Or, again, in such words as “I am in the east and the west, I am above and below, I am this entire world. Erwin Schrodinger

- Everything is seen to be too intimate, too utterly one with my Self to admit of a watcher and a watched. Rupert Spira
- The way to eliminate ignorance is through steady, focused discrimination between the observer and the world. Patanjali
- Where conscious subjectivity is concerned, there is no distinction between the observation and the thing observed. John Searle
- Form exists simultaneously as that vastness and in that vastness. Everything that appears to be form is not separate from the vastness. Suzanne Segal
- Logic presumes a separation of subject from object; therefore logic is not final wisdom. This is Zen. This is my motorcycle maintenance. Robert M. Pirsig
- Experience is always one and seamless. It is not possible for there to be two things such as Awareness and an object present together. Look at your experience. It is always one and seamless. Rupert Spira
- Integral wisdom involves a direct participation in every moment: the observer and the observed are dissolved in the light of pure awareness, and no mental concepts or attitudes are present to dim that light. Lao Tzu
- The Witness is a huge step forward, and it is a necessary and important step in meditation, but it is not ultimate. When the Witness or the soul is finally undone, then the Witness dissolves into everything that is witnessed. The subject/object duality collapses and there is only pure nondual awareness, which is very simple, very obvious. Ken Wilber
- As soon as Consciousness remembers itself, so to speak, and knows itself again as the background and substance of all appearances, by ceasing to rise as the dualising thought that seems to obscure its own reality from itself, the apparent objectivity of the world and the apparent subjectivity of the person collapses, and experience is known for what it truly is, pure Consciousness alone. Rupert Spira
- There is no ideal in observation. When you have an ideal, you cease to observe, you are then merely approximating the present to the idea, and therefore there is duality, conflict, and all the rest of it. The mind has to be in the state when it can see, observe. The experience of the observation is really an astonishing state. In that there is no duality. The mind is simply – aware. Jiddu Krishnamurti
- When no discriminating thoughts arise, the old mind ceases to exist. When thought objects vanish, the thinking-subject vanishes, as when the mind vanishes, objects vanish. Things are objects because of the subject; the mind is such because of things. Understand the relativity of these two and the basic reality: the unity of emptiness. In this Emptiness the two are indistinguishable and each contains in itself the whole world. If you do not discriminate between coarse and fine you will not be tempted to prejudice and opinion. Sengcan
- Oneness is the direct experiencing of reality as it is without an experiencer. You are the looking, not the objects being perceived. So any name, concept, emotion, sensation, body, self-image, personal identity, role, title, or historical fact that is perceived is an object in awareness. It is not who you are. This reveals that what is looking is not an object. You are not a separate person. The “separate person” is an object in awareness. You are no-thing — awareness itself. But no-thing or no self is really only half the story. When it is seen that there is not an experiencer, or that the experiencer is an object in awareness, a more mature understanding reveals itself. This understanding is not conceptual or intellectual (concepts and the intellect are merely objects appearing in awareness). It is not something that can be grasped by thinking about it because it is what you are. This understanding arises when it is seen that the nothingness that you are, the pure perceiving, is not separate from what it is perceiving, from the objects. The entire universe is the Self. Do not try to live from some conceptual idea of Oneness. A conceptual idea of Oneness is just another object in awareness. Through the direct experiencing of all this arising in this moment including any image of a separate self, Oneness is revealed to be your true nature. Scott Kiloby

- The infinite vibratory levels, the dimensions of interconnectedness are without end. There is nothing independent. All beings and things are residents in your awareness. Alex Grey
- Spirituality takes the I-perspective. It looks at things subjectively and sees the primal oneness as unconscious awareness, which becomes conscious through the forms it dreams itself to be. Tim Freke
- The formless presence of awareness you experience as the deep I is not separate from the formless presence of awareness that I experience as the deep I. At the depths of our being we are one. Tim Freke
- If I sink my attention deeply into the presence of awareness, it’s like sinking down into the depths of the ocean of being. The sense that I am an individual experiencing the world of separateness fades and I am immersed in a profound, undifferentiated oneness, beyond words to express. Tim Freke
- Awareness transcends your body, mind and emotions. Awareness is not bounded by your body or mind. It is not the personal property of your self, “I” or ego. It is not the product of your mind, body or brain. It does not belong to you. You belong to it. For you, your body and mind, are shapes taken by that awareness, within that awareness That is God. Peter Wilberg
- Just as the screen does not share the qualities, characteristics or limitations of any of the objects or characters in a movie, although it is their sole reality, so the knowing with which all knowledge and experience are known does not share the qualities, characteristics or limitations of whatever is known or experienced. Thus, it is unlimited or infinite. Rupert Spira
- Your apparent identity is distinct from my apparent identity, but is your essential identity as awareness distinct from my essential identity as awareness? Awareness can’t be touched, because it has no shape. Awareness can’t be seen, because it has no colour. Awareness can’t be heard, because it makes no noise. Awareness is a formless presence, which has no boundaries. So how can your essential nature as awareness be separate from my essential nature as awareness? You are formless awareness that exists outside of space and time … and so am I. Can you get that? As awareness we are one, but what we are experiencing is different. We are formless awareness dreaming itself to be many individuals with different experiences in the life-dream. We appear to be separate, but essentially, we are one. Tim Freke
- You and I are illusions. There is only one consciousness experiencing both of our lives, and the lives of every other person, animal, alien, etc, and possibly to some extent experiencing the vast swaths of inanimate matter and energy in the universe. Brendan Punsky
- You are the one Seer of everything; you are emancipated; your only bondage lies in that you are seeing the seer as a separate being. Ashtavakra Gita

- Awareness is one, perceptions are many. Deepak Chopra
- Awareness is one (William Samuel)
- The arising of that unifying field of awareness between human beings is the most essential factor in relationships on the new earth. Eckhart Tolle
- Your awareness has its source in unity. Instead of seeking outside yourself, go to the source to realize who you are. Deepak Chopra
- Space is a unifying field of awareness in which you meet the other person without the separative barriers created by conceptual thinking. And now the other person is no longer ‘other.’ In that space, you are joined together as one awareness, one consciousness. Eckhart Tolle
- Suppose that mind is not some private power that each of us contains, but rather a field of awareness that contains us—and likewise encompasses birds, bees, ferns, trees, salamanders, spiders, dragonflies, and all living things, permeates mountains and rivers and galaxies, each kind offering its own degree and variety of awareness, even stars, even stones. Scott Russell Sanders
- The problem arose that the primal awareness identified with each of the separate forms it appeared to be and didn’t recognize its deeper identity as the oneness of being. And here we are… that’s you and me. Each one of us is the field of awareness believing itself to be just a separate individual. Tim Freke
.
… one collective field of experience
- Can you get that? As awareness we are one, but what we are experiencing is different. Tim Freke
- We are formless awareness dreaming itself to be many individuals with different experiences in the life-dream. We appear to be separate, but essentially we are one. Tim Freke
- I am the primal awareness imagining itself to be ‘Tim’. You are the primal awareness imagining itself to be ‘you’. We appear to be separate individuals, but essentially there is one of us. Tim Freke
- That which experiences, through the temporary form you take, is the same as that which experiences through the temporary form I take. Consciousness I am experiencing through me and experiencing through you. Anthony Lambert
- There are not two things. There is only Consciousness, Presence, Oneness. Consciousness is the totality of our current experience, taking the shape of this current experience now and now and now. Rupert Spira
- I am God having an experience. You are God having an experience. Anthony Lambert
- The shaman’s capacity to transcend the parameters between self and non self afford him / her an ability to perceive the world through the prism of the other’s experience rather than solely through the lens of his / her own personal experience and belief system. Glenn Meuchie
- As I become conscious of the deep self I feel a deep peace. As I plumb the depths of my being, there is an oceanic feeling of oneness. I can see that my essential being doesn’t exist in time and space. I am the primal field of awareness that is everywhere and nowhere. I am conscious of the here and now, but I deep-know that my deepest being is the oneness of being. I am unconscious awareness arising as a centre of consciousness, which is illuminating a ‘bubble’ of experiences within the unconscious field. I am the field of awareness presencing a particular flow of experience that is arising right now. I am the oneness of awareness ‘dreaming’ itself to be a particular individual. My individual sense of being is one with the primal ground of being. I am the oneness of being arising as all beings. I am consciously individual and unconsciously one with all that is. I am separate and not-separate from everything and everyone. And this is an exquisite experience of all-embracing love.
.
Our consciousness is none other than God’s infinite being and knowing
- If Spirit has any meaning, it must be omnipresent, or all-pervading and all-encompassing. There can’t be a place where Spirit is not, or it wouldn’t be infinite. Therefore, Spirit has to be completely present, right here, right now, in your own awareness. That is, your own present awareness, precisely as it is, without changing it or altering it in any way, is perfectly and completely permeated by Spirit. Ken Wilber

Consciousness is not personal but transpersonal
- On what grounds do we believe that Consciousness is personal? Thoughts are limited. Bodies are limited. The world is limited. However, there is no experiential evidence to validate the belief that Consciousness, in which the mind, the body and the world appear, is limited or personal. Rupert Spira
- It is not enough to simply know that ‘I am Consciousness’, because this formulation leaves out everything that we do not consider to be ‘I’ – that is, others and the world. In other words, it leaves open the possibility that Consciousness is personal and limited. Consciousness has to go further and rediscover its absolute identity with all things. It has to discover that ‘I am everything’. It has to discover that it is impersonal and unlimited. Rupert Spira

To recognise ourselves as the oneness of consciousness gives rise to love
- At the deepest level, an ‘open heart’ is spacious presence, in which the sense of separateness between yourself and the ‘other’ dissolves and there is the recognition of oneness, of shared consciousness. That recognition is love. Sensing the formless essence in another and recognizing it as one with your own essence – that’s what love is. All this is an intrinsic part of the awakened consciousness and the revelation of the spiritual dimension of life. Eckhart Tolle
- A person experiences life as something separated from the rest – a kind of optical delusion of consciousness. Our task must be to free ourselves from this self-imposed prison, and through compassion, to find the reality of Oneness. Albert Einstein
- I am perceiving everyone, including myself, as an awakening being who is here to claim his or her birthright to the higher consciousness planes of unconditional love and oneness. Ken Keyes Jr.
- Love is the profound connection we feel when we realize our oneness with others, when you look into the eyes of another person and realize that person is you. Every being comes from the same life essence as you; they are the same consciousness, just inhabiting a different form. Whether you are looking into the eyes of another human, a dog, a fish, or an insect, or whether you are feeling the presence of life in a plant, in the soil, or in a mineral, it makes no difference. It is all the same consciousness inhabiting a different form. Everything is you. All is Self Joseph P. Kauffman
- Love is the recognition of oneness in a world of duality. This is the birth of God into the world of form. Love makes the world less worldly, less dense, more transparent to the divine dimension, the light of consciousness itself. Eckhart Tolle
- Realisation of love can never come so long as there is the least desire in the heart, or what Shri Ramakrishna used to say, attachment sense-pleasure and wealth. In the perfect realisation of love, even the consciousness of one’s own body does not exist. Also, the supreme Jnana is to realise the oneness everywhere, to see one’s own self as the Self in everything. That too cannot come so long as there is the least consciousness of the ego (Aham). Swami Vivekananda
- So love is the recognition of oneness in a world of duality. This is the birth of God into the world of form. Love makes the world less worldly, less dense, more transparent to the divine dimension, the light of consciousness itself. Eckhart Tolle
- More than anything else, judgment will take you out of the present moment. It will take you out of Oneness into separation. Whenever judgment arises within you, just notice it. Acknowledge it. Confess it. It is just an energy arising within you. Do not judge it or try to get rid of it. Just bring it to consciousness with love, acceptance and compassion. In this way, judgment will be transformed into love. Leonard Jacobson
- Thought can only destroy evidence of a limited, separate awareness. It cannot prove unlimited oneness. Love is the experience we are not separate. That is the proof of oneness. Rupert Spira
- To rest in being, in the awareness of being aware, is to rest in a oneness of being with all beings. Anthony Lambert

To recognise ourselves as the oneness of consciousness gives rise to enlightenment
- Perceiving this unity of all things is part of the process of enlightenment It does not matter what name you attach to it, but your consciousness must ascend to the point through which you view the universe with your God-centered nature. The feeling accompanying this experience is that of complete oneness with the Universal Whole. One merges into a euphoria of absolute unity with all life. Peace Pilgrim
- Atman (soul)-knowledge is the state of full awareness, liberation, and freedom that overcomes dualities at all levels, realizing the divine within oneself, the divine in others, and in all living beings; the non-dual oneness, that God is in everything, and everything is God. Arvind Sharma
- Those who are highly evolved, maintain an undiscriminating perception. Seeing everything, labeling nothing, they maintain their awareness of the Great Oneness. Thus they are supported by it. Lao Tzu

We can recognise ourselves as the oneness of consciousness through mystical experiences…
- The most important, the central characteristic in which all fully developed mystical experiences agree, and which in the last analysis is definitive of them and serves to mark them off from other kinds of experiences, is that they involve the apprehension of an ultimate nonsensuous unity in all things, a oneness or a One to which neither the senses nor the reason can penetrate. In other words, it entirely transcends our sensory-intellectual consciousness. It should be carefully noted that only fully developed mystical experiences are necessarily apprehensive of the One. Many experiences have been recorded which lack this central feature but yet possess other mystical characteristics. These are borderline cases, which may be said to shade off from the central core of cases. They have to the central core the relation which some philosophers like to call “family resemblance. Stace
- There was still no sense of a separate “me,” an observer looking out upon the world. Rather, everything was a oneness, and I was whatever my eyes gazed upon. It was as if my consciousness had previously been long confined, like a canary in a little cage, and that a false sense of being a separate, isolated, thinking individual had now vanished. Objects were no longer separate items existing in space; instead, everything was the same continuum. Bob Berman
- This, then, is the final apprehension of the unity of all things. It is reached- so the mystics tell us-in a state of consciousness where one’s individuality dissolves into an undifferentiated oneness, where the world of the senses is transcended and the notion of ‘things’ is left behind. In the words of Chuang Tzu, “My connection with the body and its parts is dissolved. My perceptive organs are discarded. Thus leaving my material form and bidding farewell to my knowledge, I become one with the Great Pervader. This I call sitting and forgetting all things.‘ Fritjof Capra
- With expanded perception comes freedom from the limitations of the body. The experience bestows a profound sense of joyous well-being, “beyond imagination of expectancy,” and undeniably clear awareness of one’s indissoluble unity with the infinite Consciousness from which all creation springs. Some of the names given to this experience are “cosmic consciousness,” “samadhi,” “oneness,” “nirvana,” “Christ consciousness,” “enlightenment,” “self-realization,” “divine ecstasy,” “rapture,” and “union.” This is the experience of God, or, just as meaningfully, the experience of our Self or soul. Joseph Selbie
- I realised that everything is arising spontaneously as one, and when I first experienced this deep realization it was truly astonishing. All is the one flow of life. The writing of these words is happening as part of that one flow just as naturally as the sun rises each morning. On a deep level the oneness of awareness is doing everything, just as the dreamer is doing everything in a dream. Tim Freke
- Time stopped and the awareness of Oneness with eternity replaced all thought or sense of a personal self. David R. Hawkins

…especially through the practice of deep meditation
- Meditation can give us direct exposure to the Oneness deep within. When we transcend thought, we enter a field of pure awareness—the non-local, ground state of existence. By making this journey back and forth from local to non-local awareness, we begin to witness the state of Oneness along with our waking, dreaming, and deep sleep states of awareness. This opens the door to higher states of consciousness and the full re-integration of Oneness in our lives. Roger Gabriel (Raghavanand)
- We can also have direct experience of Oneness through meditation, which provides a systematic path by which our awareness settles to quieter levels of thinking until we finally transcend thought completely. All duality is in the realm of thoughts. When we slip into the spaces between our thoughts, we become Oneness. Oneness isn’t just experiencing something; it’s a state of being. Roger Gabriel (Raghavanand)

As consciousness, we are the temporary experience of separateness waking up to recognise itself as oneness
- There is nothing else in perfect Oneness. There is only Beingness itself, self-aware. Everything we see and experience in the universe is a form of consciousness projected by this infinite Beingness so that it can experience itself in relation to itself and learn from the experience. We thus experience ourselves to be an individual soul that is evolving. Ziad Masri
- The primal oneness of unconscious awareness is arising as separate centres of consciousness, because through these centres of consciousness it can come to know that all is one. Life is on a journey from unconscious oneness through conscious separateness to conscious oneness. Tim Freke
- You and I are centres of consciousness arising within the field of awareness, and when we realize this the primal oneness comes to know itself through us. The unconscious field of awareness is coming to self knowledge, by dreaming itself to be you and me on a journey of awakening. Tim Freke
- Each soul in entering the material experience does so for those purposes of advancement towards that awareness of being fully conscious of the oneness with the Creative Forces. Edgar Cayce
- Far from being the problem, the personal self is our foundation in the world, from which we can spiritually awaken. It is a gloriously particular expression of the infinite potentiality of being, through which the primal oneness of awareness can experience life. Tim Freke
- Our separate identity as individuals in the world is the foundation from which we can wake up to our essential identity as the oneness of awareness. Tim Freke
- So our story starts with unconscious awareness in a state of deep sleep, and it climaxes with some ultra-conscious individuals who are deep awake. The dream of separateness is the primal awareness progressing from unconscious oneness to conscious oneness. Tim Freke
- The quality of being awake is a delightful joy in being alive, an unconditional love for all beings, the dissolving of the sense of self and an awareness of oneness with creation. Rupert Spira
- We come to this world of form as form to experience through form what cannot be experienced by formless awareness and oneness. Xenia
- You and I are centres of consciousness arising within the field of awareness, and when we realize this the primal oneness comes to know itself through us. The unconscious field of awareness is coming to self knowledge, by dreaming itself to be you and me on a journey of awakening. Tim Freke
