God as the ocean (summary)

Many see God in the ocean while some equate God with the ocean

  • The ocean, like God, is seething with power and energy, is infinitely vast, is unfathomable, is pure abundance, is the personification of love, is the source of all life and contains great treasure.
  • Our souls long for the ocean like they long for God.
  • God is an ocean of eternity, infinity, kindness, goodness, truth and knowledge, grace, possibility, love, mercy, joy and bliss and providence.
  • We are like fish in the ocean, searching for evidence of water (God).
.

We are waves on the ocean of God

  • Each living being is a wave on the ocean that is God, waves within an ocean of consciousness, waves within the vast ocean of Being.
  • God is an ocean of energy and we are waves of energy.
  • Like us, the spiritual icons were also waves on the ocean of God and all who have come before us.
  • The waves come and go while the ocean remains.
  • Waves cannot exist without the ocean.
  • As the ocean waves, the universe peoples. The waves seem separate from the ocean, but this is illusion. No wave is separate from the ocean. All waves are one with the ocean.
  • We are the ocean appearing as a wave for a while. The ocean realises itself as the ocean through the wave. As waves, we are what we seek. Each of us is part of something vastly greater
  • We are all connected in the deep connected within the ocean of humanity. Our lives flow into each other.
  • Our souls and the ocean of God are made from same substance. In reality, nothing exists other than the ocean.
  • The movement of each wave is dictated by the entire ocean. Suffering is to resist this movement and to forget who we really are, to think we are separate from the totality that is God.
  • All we need do is to surrender and allow the ocean to take care of us.
.

All experiencing is God bringing forth waves of manifestation…

  • …fluctuations arising in an ocean of consciousness, waves that we get to surf.
  • Thought is a wave arising in an ocean of awareness. Emotions too are waves arising.
  • Do not resist these waves for it is the nature of waves to come and go.
  • Dive beneath the waves to find peace and wisdom. Rest in the ocean of Now.
  • Know yourself not to be just the wave but the ocean of consciousness itself, one with all and know this ocean to be God.
.

Sink into the oceanic depths of God’s Being and find peace

  • The great ocean has waves on its surface but is serene in its depths. So it is with the mind.
.

Our lives are whirlpools in consciousness

  • All whirlpools are ultimately one with the ocean.
  • When a whirlpool ceases, the water sinks back into the depths of God’s infinite Being. Sink beneath the eddies and whirlpools to experience stillness.
.

Each of us is a drop in God’s ocean

  • From the drop, we can infer the ocean. What is the ocean but a multitude of drops?
  • As drops, we are one with the ocean.
  • Each drop contains the ocean for a drop contains the same qualities as the ocean yet not in the same degree. The soul is like the ocean. Each of us contains an ocean within us.
  • Give up the drop and gain the ocean.
  • Our ultimate destiny is to rejoin the ocean, to dissolve in the ocean when we die.
.

Death is simply a merging back into the ocean

  • Death is only the cessation of the wave. When the wave is gone, the water remains.
.

Our lives are rivers flowing back to the ocean that is God

  • Many different rivers all end in the same sea just as the many religions lead to the same God.
  • All rivers merge with the one ocean at the end of their journey. The ocean refuses no river.
  • Each river has its source in consciousness. The ocean is the ultimate source of all rivers.
  • Ultimately the river and ocean are one.
  • Believe in the ocean. Be patient like a river and humble like a stream.
